Nanotechnology

The following defining features of nanotechnology were harmed out by the National Nanotechnology Initiative:

• Nanotechnology involves research and technology development at the 1nm to 100nm range.
• Nanotechnology creates and uses structures that have novel properties because of their small size.
• Nanotechnology builds on the ability to control or manipulate at the atomic size.

Novel properties:
When we go nano, the interactions and physics between atoms display exotic properties that they don't at larger scales. At this level atoms leave the realm of classical physical properties behind, and venture into the wold of quantum mechanics.
